Microsoft Windows 7 Upgrade Program

Microsoft Windows 7 Upgrade Program officially begins and HP's portal web-site will be accepting customer registrations.

Notebook, Desktop and Workstation customers purchasing Vista Ultimate, Vista Business, Vista Home Premium or Vista to XP Pro Downgrade OS BTO or on or after June 26th will be eligible to register for a free upgrade to the equivalent Windows 7 OS.

Customers with Volume License Agreements already have the OS upgrade rights and can receive their software upgrades directly from Microsoft.

Microsoft are therefore limiting the program to a maximum of 25 copies to any one location and while there is no charge for the upgrade, there is a US shipping and handling fee of $12.99 for a single upgrade to cover the costs of media replication, packaging and distribution. Multiple upgrade orders will be charged $3.50 per additional copy.

The HP business upgrade kit has is available and includes the Windows 7 Certificate of Authenticity (COA), Win 7 restore OS DVD and Win 7 driver DVD where applicable.
